Car needs some items replaced, so going to get a new water pump, thermostat, timing belt, servicing belt, alternator belt, and all the gaskets for them. Also getting the oil changed and radiator flushed, guy said he'd do it for $650, you think that's fair?
Cars a 1993 ford probe gt 2.5L V6.How much do you think it would cost to have these parts replaced?hmmm. you should only need one belt(10). and one timing chain(20). water pump/gasket wont be to cheap(150,10)), t stat should be cheap(20), oil change easy(20), inexpensive and radiator fluch not to bad (40). im thinking around:
300$ in parts (if that), and maybe(?) 220$ in labor.. so if you pay him 550 cash im sure he'd be fine with it..How much do you think it would cost to have these parts replaced? If this is the Mazda based engine, the items you need are very pricey. This IS a good deal, if the tech is using all genuine factory replacement parts, and not skimming with cheaper aftermarket parts. There is a special skill involved in completing this task correctly, but using inferior parts will compromise the longevity of the repair. Buy your own parts from the dealer, and then ask how much to install. Or, get all the receipts for where the parts came from. Good Luck!!!
