i mazda has been over heating the highway and have changed the thermostat and water pump and radiator cap everyone tells me to completely flush the cooling system. well i bought a flush kit from autozone and it tells me to cut a hose and insert the T connector but i do not know what hose from the firewall i should be cutting and inserting it into! there are several hoses that come out from the firewall and they are a bit confusing. if someone can please give me some direction i would be very greatful! How to completly flush my cooling system 1996 mazda 626?If you get one of those kits from an auto parts store and follow the directions it will do a great job. They sell a cleaner that you add to your coolant that will work most of the buildup loose. They do not just clean the heater core. It will clean the entire motor water circuit. But you must follow the instructions. I have one in every vehicle I own and use them every year. There are two heater hoses from the water pump. You may need a repair manual to figure out which one you need. It won't work as well if you put it in the wron hose. Most of them are between 1/2 and 3/4 in dia. Hope this gets you heading in the right direction. Any other questions contact me...... Good luck. How to completly flush my cooling system 1996 mazda 626?cut the heater hose that does not go to the water pump. but that kit is only going to flush the heater core for the most part.
The radiator is plugged (probably) and you need to back flush that with no more than 20 PS!.
stop by a hardware store and get from the hose size down to a picket size, then go nuts.
Flush it back and forth until it runs clear.
I have tried those %26quot;kits%26quot; that they sell and have never had one work.
Unless you have used some stop leak in the car, the radiator is probably gooped up with calcium and that auto parts store crap will not work. you could try some vinegar and an overnight soak, or some true acidic acid, but it gets dicey at best. remember that you radiator is not working so its not like you can get any worse..... right?
