2005 Honda Civic Transmission and Radiator Fluid Change?

I was told I needed Transmission Fluid and Radiator Fluid change..

How much would both of the cost ? and if I had to pick one to do right now and the other later which one should I have done tomorrow?

I have a 2005 Honda Civic little over 61,000 miles ..2005 Honda Civic Transmission and Radiator Fluid Change?I would definitely change the transmission fluid.

At 60,000 miles it would be good to drain and refill it twice with a short drive in between to mix up the fluid. You might put off the cooling system but do it at least by this coming fall.

The reason is that the automatic tranny holds over 6 quarts but when you drain it only 2.9 quarts comes out. So to get out more of the old fluid you need to drain and refill it at least twice at your mileage. Use only Honda ATF fluid. Get it at the dealer or at a Carquest auto parts store. Cost is around $6.50 to $8 a quart. So doing it yourself will cost $40 to $50 for the fluid. Put a new washer on the drain plug as well.

Changing either of these will not make your car drive faster.

And DON'T flush a Honda transmission unless you are looking for trouble.2005 Honda Civic Transmission and Radiator Fluid Change?Just because it's a Honda doesn't mean proper maintenance shouldn't be done. Sure, transmission fluid can last up to 90,000 miles but that's under %26quot;normal%26quot; conditions. If you do a lot of city driving, short trips and such or live in more extreme warm or cold conditions it is recommended you change the fluid more often. If you never changed the fluid my suggestion is to do it now. It should cost between $100 and $150 for a good flush of the system.

Same goes for the radiator fluid but should be changed even more so. If it's the regular green fluid (in which I think Civics use) the most I would go would be 2 years or 30,000 miles. A flush should cost around $80 to $100.

Honda's are good cars, but not that good to skip maintenance. If I were you I would try to get both done more sooner then later.2005 Honda Civic Transmission and Radiator Fluid Change?its an 05 you wont need one of those for at least another 2 years, its a honda! its so easy to do on a Honda it shouldnt cost but 12 dollars and flud for the radiator. as far as the trans depends on the shop call around.
